Rigsby with Ailby is the smallest Parish within the Group, and one of the smallest in the County, consisting of two villages joined by fields, footpaths and a bridleway, but over two miles apart by road, combined population of 16 souls.
Nevertheless, the Parish Church of St James is well supported, and has a consistent band of some 12 to 15 worshippers at the regular Eucharist Service held on the first Sunday of the month, who sing lustily – if not always tunefully – mainly traditional hymns, with Pat Riley accompanying on the battery-powered organ. On darker mornings or gloomy days the Church is bathed in the soft glow of candlelight as there is no electricity here.
Remedial work to the roof and rose window was undertaken in early 2010.
